Quick-Cook Southern-Style Greens

You can have tasty greens on your busiest days. Add a bit of ham, black-eyed peas or potatoes to dress them up.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (27 oz.) Allen’s® Seasoned Turnip Greens, not drained
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook ham 4 minutes or until beginning to brown.
  2. Stir in greens and water. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, covered, 10 to 15 minutes for flavors to develop.
